You’re in Pudong, so the financial district energy is there, but this particular spot along Hai Yang West Road has a more relaxed vibe. The Bund views are absolutely stunning (couples seem to go crazy for this, and I get why), and you’re actually close enough to both the historic Bund area and the modern Lujiazui skyline. Plus, having free private parking at an upscale hotel in Shanghai? That’s practically unheard of. The neighborhood seamlessly blends contemporary development with cultural heritage, making it an ideal base for exploring the city.

The Rooms

My room had floor-to-ceiling windows that basically turned the Shanghai skyline into living artwork. The design feels contemporary but warm — none of that cold, sterile luxury hotel nonsense. What really impressed me was the attention to detail in the bathroom; the fixtures felt substantial, and the lighting was actually flattering (you know how rare that is). The bed was firm but comfortable, and honestly, the blackout curtains worked so well I almost overslept my first morning. Each element has been thoughtfully curated to enhance comfort and aesthetic appeal.

The restaurant situation here is solid without being overwhelming. Breakfast had a good mix of Western and Chinese options — the congee was particularly good, and they actually know how to make proper coffee. I spent some time in their spa area, which has this zen-like quality that helps you decompress from Shanghai’s intensity. The fitness center is well-equipped too, though I’ll admit I was more interested in just sitting by those massive windows watching the city wake up.   I liked that the room was clean, that's the first aspect. The room was quite spacious, and the bathroom was huge, with a separate toilet, making it possible to use both facilities (shower/bathtub and toilet) simultaneously if the room accommodates two people. Although I paid for breakfast every day, I only went once, and I regret it. In terms of dishes, breakfast is not exceptional, but it has plenty of fruits, and the dragon fruit is incredibly delicious. The staff's hospitality is remarkable; I've rarely seen anything like it. Every day, my bed was made, I was given fresh towels, my sink was cleaned, and the trash was taken out.
  
  What could be improved: It’s a downside that the room doesn’t have an Ethernet port, and you can only connect via Wi-Fi, which is a negative point for me, especially in China, where you need a VPN to access platforms like Microsoft Teams (and I’m a teacher who needed to participate in online classes), Google, Facebook, YouTube, or Instagram. I brought an Ethernet cable with me, but I had no use for it. Another negative aspect is that some hotel staff don’t speak much English, requiring a translation service to communicate effectively with everyone.

  Modern and new hotel, close to subway and many restaurants and shopping mal. I like the architecture and interior. Rooms are big and bathroom is great.

  What could be improved: Mobile network had bad coverage in my room, however this area is under developing, so I assume this will improve.

  New and moderne hotel. Great place to stay in Shanghai for a reasonable price, great breakfast, and friendly staff. Close to many restaurants and Subway line 6, 8 & 11. Approx 30 minutes to airport by taxi (200RMB)
  
  What could be improved: Room had poor 5G Mobile signal, but only on some rooms it seems. Area is under development, so there are construction work nearby.

  I booked this place because they mentioned that they were able to keep my parcel before my arrival, and I managed to get all my parcels before my arrival. They also kindly let my check in earlier than the stated check-in time and I greatly appreciate the extra fee hours! Thank you to all the staff who have served me during my stay.
  
  What could be improved: I've heard that there were some sewage smell on previous reviews. There was that, but I think it went away after a couple of nights (it was between the sink and the toilet bowl). Guess it could be that the room needs to be used for a while to air it out

  Great location, only a 5 mins walk from Taikooli shopping area with lots of eateries, cafes etc. It’s also there where the Oriental Sports Centre metro station is – connecting with Line 8 and Line 11.

  The room is spacious, and the welcome letter and desert are sweet. The restaurant has its own vibe, and the breakfast dishes are quite satisfying. I particularly enjoy the Shanghai-style noodles.

  What could be improved: It was very, very cold in the breakfast room. And to have to pay extra for eggs and other "normal" breakfast food is unacceptable at this price level of the stay.
