  Location was good and the bed & pillows were very comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: There was an obvious issue with black mould in the bathroom of the first room I was given. There was also some mould in the 2nd room they moved me to but not as bad as the 1st one.

  Location is quite near to the East Nanjing Metro Station (+/- 750m). Comfortable walking distance from the hotel.
  The rooms are compact, they said that they need to preserve the building by maintaining the old room layout as part of the historical building. But the rooms are well maintained and quite convenient for staying
  
  What could be improved: If you don't speak chinese, then communication will be a challenge. You'll need to use translator in order to communicate with the hotel staff, which they are always very helpful though language is a problem.
  
  Beware when you use google maps to find this place since there's another similar name of Z hotel nearby.

  Fantastic Location and very authentic old shanghai style building. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was kind but it would be great if they can speak a bit of english. We communicated thru translation app though.

  I liked the location in a historic building of architectural heritage value. It was the most photographed building in a 300 metre radius. And yet it is located just a short stroll away from The Bund. In spite of language difficulties, the staff were extremely helpful. Finally, the decor and fittings were just the right amount quirky.
  
  What could be improved: The log-on to WiFi was difficult, and required assistance from hotel staff. Various Apps wouldn't work, including GoogleTranslate, which I found very unhelpful. Perhaps that's a countrywide issue, but i didn't find alternative arrangements.

  I love that it was in such a interesting and historical building. The location was also so close to the bund but at such a reasonable price for Shanghai. They also threw in a free upgrade of the room. The room was spacious and had a modern grungy finishing.
  
  What could be improved: There isn't a proper lobby due to the location so stopping at the neighboring driveway to offload and load luggage was a little of a hassle.
