The neighborhood has this authentic Shanghai feel with tree-lined streets and local cafes where you’ll actually hear Shanghainese being spoken. Couples particularly seem to get this location — I mean, there’s something romantic about being slightly removed from the hustle while still having easy access to everything that matters.

The Rooms

The rooms here strike that perfect balance between modern comfort and thoughtful design. What I appreciated most was the attention to details that actually matter — blackout curtains that really work, a bathroom with proper water pressure, and windows that open (you’d be surprised how rare that is in Shanghai hotels). The beds are genuinely comfortable, not just expensive-looking, and there’s enough space to spread out without feeling like you’re rattling around in an oversized suite. The views vary depending on your room, but even the city-facing ones give you a nice sense of the neighborhood’s character.

Dining & Amenities

The continental breakfast is actually worth getting up for — and I say this as someone who usually just grabs coffee and runs. They’ve got a good mix of Western and local options, plus the coffee is properly made, not that weak hotel stuff you sometimes get. What really impressed me was the free parking — in Shanghai, that’s practically unheard of for a luxury hotel in a decent location. It’s one of those practical perks that makes a real difference if you’re planning to explore beyond the city center or have business meetings in different districts.

  Close to North Bund and the ferry station to Pudong. Also walking distance to Raffles city Shopping Center. Very comfortable, clean and spacious room. For Jing’an or FFC it is easiest to take a taxi. There is currently a large building site behind the hotel, so I was given a room facing the side towards the river.
