Shanghai T Plus Hotel Residence Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Shanghai T Plus Hotel Residence, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical business hotel. The lobby has this understated elegance that screams quality without being flashy — honestly, it feels more like stepping into a well-appointed private residence than a commercial property. Located in Shanghai‘s Minhang District, this five-star property sits on Yindu Road, and I have to say, the location surprised me in the best way possible. You’re far enough from the tourist chaos to actually breathe, but still connected to everything that matters.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Here’s what I love about this spot — Minhang District gives you authentic Shanghai without the overwhelming crowds. You know what’s great? You can actually walk around here and feel like you’re experiencing real city life, not just tourist attractions. The parking situation is fantastic too, which anyone who’s driven in Shanghai will tell you is basically a miracle. There are local eateries within walking distance where you’ll hear more Mandarin than English, and that’s exactly what you want when you’re trying to get a genuine feel for the city.
Living Spaces That Actually Work
The room — well, it’s more like an apartment really — feels spacious in a way that’s rare for Shanghai hotels. I mean, you can actually open your suitcase without having to climb over it to get to the bathroom. The kitchenette isn’t just for show either; it’s properly equipped if you want to grab some local ingredients and try your hand at cooking. The design strikes this perfect balance between modern functionality and subtle Chinese touches that don’t feel forced or touristy.
Morning Rituals and Daily Comforts
The breakfast buffet deserves its own mention — it’s one of those spreads that manages to satisfy both Western expectations and local tastes without compromising either. You’ll find proper coffee (thank goodness) alongside congee that’s actually worth getting up early for. The service throughout the hotel has this professional warmth that feels genuine rather than scripted. Staff members seem to anticipate what you need without hovering, which is honestly refreshing after staying at places where you can’t move without someone asking if you need assistance.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it handles the luxury experience — it’s refined without being stuffy, comfortable without being casual. Couples particularly seem to appreciate the location, and I can see why; there’s something romantic about having your own little corner of Shanghai where you can retreat from the city’s intensity. The combination of space, genuine service, and that prime location creates this perfect base for exploring the city. You’re getting five-star treatment in a neighborhood that still feels authentically Shanghai, and that balance is surprisingly hard to find in this city.

Everything and everyone. Its boutique style was really nice to wake to everyday. Pretty quiet though not far off from the main road.
What could be improved: When I booked a pool was included but on arrival and after a few days only when I asked was I told the pool had been closed down or returned to the third party owner for uneconomical reasons. Didn’t make any sense at all to me. But, ok, shit happens sometimes!!Raimund from Germany – 18 December 2024 (8/10)
Frühstück ausreichend und für chinesische Verhältnisse gut. Auswahl Wurst und Käse könnte besser sein.

What could be improved: 도시 중심으로부터 저금 떨어져 있어서 접근성이 좋지 않음Albin from Sweden – 12 October 2024 (8/10)
Personalen var jättehjälpsam och trevlig. Allting var väldigt fräscht och fint. Rummet var grymt med fin utsikt. Utrymmet i källaren var väldigt trevligt. Bor gärna här igen.
What could be improved: Om jag måste klaga på något så är det läget, inte jättemycket att göra i närheten.Sourav from India – 13 August 2024 (8/10)
