Shanghai Blackstone M Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Shanghai Blackstone M Hotel feels like discovering one of those perfectly kept secrets that locals don’t really want to share. This five-star property sits quietly on Fuxing Middle Road in Shanghai‘s Xuhui District, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. The building itself has this understated elegance — not flashy, but you immediately sense the luxury in the details.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what I love about this spot? It’s right in the heart of the former French Concession, which means you’re surrounded by tree-lined streets and that distinctive Shanghai blend of old and new architecture. The metro connections are actually fantastic from here — you can reach People’s Square in about 15 minutes, and the Bund isn’t much further. What really struck me though was how couples seem to gravitate toward this place. I mean, there’s something romantic about strolling through the neighborhood’s cafes and boutiques, then coming back to your luxury base.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had floor-to-ceiling windows that let in this gorgeous natural light during the day. The design strikes this perfect balance between contemporary comfort and subtle Chinese touches — nothing overdone, just thoughtful details that remind you where you are. The bed was honestly one of the most comfortable I’ve encountered in Shanghai, and the bathroom felt like a private spa retreat. Storage space was generous too, which you don’t always get in city hotels. The attention to comfort extends to every corner, making each moment feel specially curated.
Breakfast & Dining
Here’s where the hotel really shines — the breakfast spread is impressive without being overwhelming. They’ve got this great mix of Asian options alongside American classics, and the buffet setup flows really well (no awkward crowding around the coffee station). I actually found myself looking forward to breakfast each morning, which doesn’t always happen. The restaurant staff seemed to remember preferences after just a day or two, which added a nice personal touch to the whole experience. The culinary team demonstrates genuine passion for hospitality.
Why Guests Love It
The 9.3 rating makes complete sense once you’ve spent time here. It’s that rare combination of excellent service, prime location, and genuine attention to detail that creates memorable stays. The spa facilities are beautifully maintained, and there’s something about the overall atmosphere that feels both sophisticated and welcoming. Parking is available if you’re driving, though honestly, you probably won’t need a car much from this location. What really sets this place apart is how it manages to feel like a luxury retreat while keeping you connected to everything that makes Shanghai exciting — the shopping, the dining scene, the cultural attractions are all within easy reach. Every element works in harmony to create an unforgettable experience.
The luxury concierge service in Shanghai secures couture shopping previews, chef’s table xiaolongbao tastings, and helicopter loops over Pudong.

Reviews of Shanghai Blackstone M Hotel
Charissa from Singapore – 17 May 2025 (10/10)
Service staff were very helpful. Before check in, they stored our luggage then delivered it to our rooms once the room was ready. Then sent us walking guides for the neighbourhood. They were always easily contactable via wechat and answered all our questions.
Location near Wukang Road, very pleasant to walk around. Many restaurants nearby.
Rooms are fantastic. Very comfortable; I slept so well
