Maixinge Boutique Hotel Chuansha Branch Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Maixinge Boutique Hotel Chuansha Branch, you immediately get that feeling of “oh, this is actually nicer than I expected.” It’s one of those four-star places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with flashy lobbies, but instead focuses on getting the details right. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay comfortable, and honestly, that goes a long way when you’re dealing with travel fatigue.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s what I love about staying in Shanghai’s Pudong area — you’re close enough to everything that matters without being stuck in the absolute chaos of the city center. The hotel sits on South Chuanhuan Road, which might not sound familiar if you’re new to Shanghai, but it’s actually a smart spot. You can get to Pudong International Airport pretty easily, and the metro connections aren’t bad at all. I mean, couples seem to really appreciate this location (they rate it nearly 9 out of 10), and I get why — there’s something nice about having space to breathe while still being connected.

The Room Experience

You know what really surprised me? The beds here are genuinely comfortable — like, fall-asleep-immediately comfortable. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels where you spend the first night adjusting to a mattress that’s either too soft or feels like concrete, but that’s not an issue here. The room itself has that boutique hotel vibe without being overly designed or pretentious. Everything feels thoughtfully chosen, from the lighting to the way they’ve arranged the space. It’s the kind of place where you actually want to hang out in your room for a bit.

Morning Routine

Breakfast here is pretty solid — they do both buffet style and grab-and-go options, which is smart because not everyone has the same morning schedule. The buffet has enough variety to keep you happy, and honestly, the grab-and-go option saved me more than once when I had early meetings. What really makes mornings easier though is the free parking — I know that sounds like a small thing, but if you’ve ever tried to find affordable parking in Shanghai, you’ll understand why this matters.

Why Guests Love It

There’s something to be said for a hotel that just works without any drama. The location gets consistently high ratings because it actually makes sense for travelers — you’re not paying premium prices for being in the absolute center, but you’re not stranded either. The staff seems to understand that business travelers and couples have different needs, and they handle both well. It’s the kind of place where you check in, settle into a comfortable room, get a good night’s sleep, and wake up feeling like you made a smart choice. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Exploring Shanghai layers shikumen courtyards, jazz-age lobbies, and twilight ferries past the Oriental Pearl.

I really liked the room, it was clean, there were all necessary things to use. My male friend even had welcome vegetables, I didn’t have it, even though it was my birthday. We found it funny, I still ate what they gave to him.
    Breakfast was very good too!

What could be improved: The good thing is that they provide free transfer from the airport to the hotel. But the bad thing is how they arrange it. First of all, all stuff speak ZERO English, which makes the communication with them extremely hard. Here is my story: a day before the departure to Shanghai I tried to know how to find their transfer and what time, instead of saying straightly what exit I need and maybe attaching photos, they asked me about my flight number and amount of luggage. I provided all information but didn’t get any details on where to find it. So I had to sort it out after arrival. Once again, they texted only Chinese and I guess translator was not so accurate. So after arrival I contacted them again to ask about transfer location. They asked me the same things about luggage but haven’t answered about transfer location, so I had to ask AGAIN. Turned out instead of “arrival” floor, I had to go up on “departure” floor. They gave me information with small prices and I always had to clarify it. “Okay I’m on “departure” floor, where do I head next? They ask me “ are you near exit 3 already?” Why would I be near exit 3 if you have never told me that I needed it? So I was running from exit 15 to exit 3 with two luggage to hurry up. Then I didn’t found anyone inside exit 3, they texted me that they are coming in one minute so I need to go out of the airport exit 3. I had no internet only WIFI (I guess they couldn’t guess it), wifi wasn’t working outside, so I had to wait for them on the exit they mentioned, I was there for nearly 10 minutes panicking that I don’t have internet and I don’t see the transfer.. I stood there and cried actually because everything was so inconvenient. Turned out they were waiting not near exit 3 road exactly, but on the further road parallel with me.. didn’t see them. Thankfully they sort out to check on me next exit 3 (the spot for meeting they told me)..

Breakfast was great value! room was super comfortable! and it was so easy to contact the hotel for the airport shuttle. We went into the city and the hotel was close to transport, walking distance, which made it easy and smooth. Nice and close to the airport. the room was quiet and very comfortable. They let us check in early, which was amazing after a long plane trip!

  • Law from New Zealand – 22 February 2025 (8/10)

Amazing service and a comfortable place. Providing a shuttle bus to Disneyland and airport. Preparing takeaway breakfast for us when we need to leave early to the airport. The location is great as it's close to the subway station and local market. Highly recommended!!! You did a great job , Maixinge Boutique hotel team….

  • Rosanna from Netherlands – 18 January 2025 (9/10)

I liked this hotel. It has a nice shuttle service to and from the airport. The staff was very nice and helpful. Nice room, nice shower.

What could be improved: The staff was nice, but a lot didn’t speak english.
I had two seperate bookings. I liked the room but the second room was next to the elevator and therefore it was a little noisy. Only Chinese breakfast

  • Agnieszka from United Kingdom – 5 January 2025 (8/10)

Very good location from airport. Airport shuttle was quickly organised once we landed and collected our luggage. Communication with hotel very good, they respond to messages straight away. We got the room earlier than check in time so we could rest after long flight. Definitely recommend.

  • Tina from United Kingdom – 3 January 2025 (8/10)

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Tatiana from Russia – 27 December 2024 (8/10)

Free shuttle bus from and to airport. welcome drink and souvenirs for kids. early check-in. Very clean and comfortable room.veautiful authentic park walking distance. metro walking distance. close to airport.very flexible conditions. staff very helpful. always available at wechat.

What could be improved: we found absolutely nothing edible at breakfast..
staff speaks almost no English but use online translator

  • Signe from Netherlands – 25 December 2024 (9/10)

Airport shuttle is included, just remember to inform the hotel of which flight you will be arriving and leaving with (I didn't and they justifiably didn't know when to pick me up, but I managed to call them from the airport and we managed to have me picked to and dropped at the hotel although only some of the staff speaks English). Big room, with all the amenities you could need slippers, bathrobes, kettle, Water, Tea, coffee, toiletries) and more, they even had laundry service. The breakfast was very nice, they had a wide variety of options, both Chinese and Westren, although the Chinese breakfast options were the most delicious, the breakfast also included a variety of drinks e.g. juices, tea, coffee, milk… I noticed many people also were given the option to bring their breakfast with them to the airport if they did not have time to eat before leaving. And shuttle back to the airport was also included and scheduled upon your arrival. Many nice restaurants and convenience stores down the street, also banks where you can take out money if needed. Also, there was airconditioning which could be turned on and off at the hotel.

What could be improved: Nothing really.
