But couples seem to love this spot — I can see why, since it feels more residential and less touristy than staying right in Puxi or Pudong.

My room was actually larger than I anticipated, with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in tons of natural light. The bed was properly comfortable — not too soft, not too firm — and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that actually works well. What impressed me most was the attention to small details: USB ports right by the bedside, blackout curtains that actually block light, and decent WiFi throughout. The air conditioning was quiet too, which matters more than you’d think after a long day exploring the city.

Morning Fuel

The breakfast spread surprised me in the best way possible. They’ve got this buffet setup with Italian options (decent pasta and fresh bread), American classics like eggs and bacon, plus local Shanghai favorites. I mean, it’s not going to win any culinary awards, but it’s substantial and fresh. The coffee was actually drinkable — sometimes that’s all you need to start your day right. The dining area gets busy around 8 AM, so I’d suggest going a bit earlier if you prefer a quieter atmosphere.

Look, this isn’t the flashiest hotel in Shanghai, but it delivers on the fundamentals really well. The location works especially well if you’re not planning to spend every waking moment in the city center — maybe you’re here for business in Songjiang or you want a quieter base while still having access to the metro. The parking situation is straightforward if you’re driving, which isn’t always a given in this city. With that 9.8 rating, it’s clear other guests appreciate the same things I did: solid service, clean facilities, and a genuine sense that the staff cares about your stay. It’s the kind of place where everything just works without any drama.
