Here’s what I love about the location — you’re in Minhang District, which means you’re close enough to the action but far enough away to actually get some peace. The National Exhibition and Convention Center is practically next door, which is obviously huge if you’re here on business, but even leisure travelers benefit from being near the Hongqiao transport hub. You know what’s really convenient? The parking situation — it’s free and private, which is honestly a godsend in Shanghai where parking can be a nightmare. Getting to downtown takes about 30 minutes by metro, and the airport connections are excellent.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was spacious by Shanghai standards — actually spacious, not just “well-designed to feel bigger.” The beds are genuinely comfortable with quality linens that feel luxury without being over-the-top, and the bathroom has this rainfall shower that’s perfect after a long day exploring the city. What impressed me most was the attention to detail — proper blackout curtains, multiple charging stations, and a work desk that’s actually functional if you need to get things done. The views vary depending on which side you’re on, but even the city-facing rooms offer something interesting to look at.

Dining & Amenities

Breakfast here is where they really shine — the buffet spreads across Continental, Asian, and local options, so whether you want congee and dim sum or eggs benedict, you’re covered. The restaurant serves solid international cuisine with some excellent Chinese dishes, though I’d recommend venturing out for dinner to explore the local food scene. The spa facilities are well-maintained and offer a good way to unwind, especially if you’re dealing with jet lag or conference fatigue.

  What could be improved: The hotel was located directly next to a railroad. Heavy trains passes by every 10-15mins. Unfortunately my room window was facing the railroad. If I close the Window for too long, the room gets stuffy. If I open it, the noise from the train goes directly into my room 24 hours! No matter which mode I switch the air condition to, it was still in heater mode which will make the room even more stuffy. And stay here only if you’re visiting the expo. Or else, there is basically nothing surrounding this hotel.

  What could be improved: No free breakfast provided. Unpleasant smell from restroom. Mattress is too soft. Quilt is too thick. TV was not available on 15/09/2023 due to system change/upgrade. Free WIFI access is not available in common areas inside the hotel.

Report on website that this is a premium hotel near the CIFF Exhibition. We had to cancel the reservation and move hotels as it was so bad + I was charged for the night despite not staying.
