Shanghai Hills&XING 593 Homestay Mid Huaihai Rd Near Metro Line 1 North Zhongshan Rd Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Shanghai Hills&XING 593 Homestay Mid Huaihai Rd Near Metro Line 1 North Zhongshan Rd feels like discovering a well-kept secret tucked away in one of Shanghai’s most vibrant neighborhoods. This three-star homestay sits right on Huaihai Middle Road — honestly, you couldn’t ask for a better spot if you tried. The building itself has that classic Shanghai charm, and when you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that you’ve found something authentic rather than just another cookie-cutter hotel.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what really struck me about this place? It’s genuinely in the heart of everything without feeling touristy or overwhelming. Huaihai Road is where locals actually shop and hang out — not just where they take visitors. The Metro Line 1 connection at North Zhongshan Road means you’re literally minutes from anywhere you want to go in the city. I mean, couples seem to absolutely love this area (and honestly, I can see why), but it works just as well whether you’re traveling solo or with friends. The neighborhood has this perfect mix of traditional Shanghai life and modern energy that you don’t find everywhere.
The Space
The room setup here is what you’d expect from a quality homestay — comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully arranged. It’s not trying to be fancy, but everything you need is there and it all works well. The space feels more personal than a typical hotel room, which I actually prefer when I’m staying somewhere for more than just a night or two. There’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on comfort and functionality rather than flashy amenities you’ll never use. The kitchen facilities are well-equipped for preparing light meals and snacks.
Practical Perks
Here’s something that’ll save you headaches — they have private parking available, which is honestly a huge deal in this part of Shanghai. If you’re planning to rent a car or have someone picking you up, that’s one less thing to worry about. The whole setup feels designed by people who actually understand what travelers need, not just what looks good in photos. Small details like this make a real difference when you’re trying to navigate a busy city. The apartment layout maximizes functionality without sacrificing comfort.
Why Guests Love It
After staying here, I totally get why this place scores so well with visitors — especially couples looking for that perfect Shanghai experience. It’s got that sweet spot combination of being right in the action but still feeling like a peaceful retreat at the end of the day. The location score speaks for itself, but what really makes it work is how the place manages to feel both distinctly local and completely welcoming to international guests. You’re not just staying in Shanghai; you’re actually living in it for a few days. Nearby restaurants offer authentic local cuisine within walking distance.
Hotel in Shanghai reservations surge before F1 weekend when supercars hum along Yan’an Elevated Road.

Location is perfect, just near the center of Middle HuaHai Road.
Easy to go by walk to Metro Station.
Near 7Eleven, also tons of food and restaurant.
What could be improved: Part of the air conditioner is really dirty, need to be cleaned.
The water heater sometimes a bit of a problem.
The toilet a little bi small, difficult to move around.Tylor from Singapore – 8 January 2025 (9/10)
The place is lovely and spotlessly clean, with a real Shanghai charm to it. The location is fantastic, with plenty of bus and metro options nearby, making it really easy to get around. There are also plenty of places to eat and shop, and being so close to the subway is a real bonus for convenience.

Very good location, nearby the metro station, just a few minutes walk
This community has a very local living atmosphere, you can feel the daily life of the locals very interesting. And the food in this area is also very good, it is a local special flavorDenise from Australia – 1 January 2025 (9/10)
I’d say the location of this place is spot on. It’s only about a 5-minute walk to the subway, so getting around is a breeze. You’re pretty much right in the thick of things, and there’s a real local vibe to the area. The streets are lined with some cool little shops, cafes, and spots where you can get a taste of daily life. It’s not just another touristy area, which makes you feel like you’re living like the locals do. Honestly, if you’re looking for an authentic experience and easy access to transport, this place ticks all the boxes.
