Here’s the thing about staying in Pudong — you’re not exactly in the heart of old Shanghai, but you’re perfectly positioned for the modern side of the city. The hotel sits on Tang An Road, which might not mean much if you’re unfamiliar with the area, but it’s actually quite strategic. You’ve got easy access to the financial district without being stuck in the middle of all that corporate chaos. What I really appreciated was the free private parking — and I mean actually free, not one of those “complimentary with conditions” situations you sometimes encounter. If you’re planning a romantic getaway, this location works particularly well since you can easily reach both the Bund and the newer attractions without feeling rushed.

The Rooms

The room I stayed in had that contemporary luxury feel that five-star hotels in Shanghai do so well — clean lines, quality materials, and thoughtful touches that make a difference. The bed was genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that actually delivers on the promise. I particularly liked how the room felt spacious without being cavernous — there’s something about the proportions that just works. The city views from the upper floors are quite something, especially at night when Pudong lights up like a circuit board.

Breakfast & Dining

The continental breakfast here is more substantial than what that term usually implies — you know how sometimes “continental” means a sad pastry and coffee situation? Not the case here. They’ve got a proper spread with both Western and Chinese options, which makes sense given the international clientele. I found myself going back for their congee more than once, and the coffee was actually decent (always a relief in hotels). The dining area has floor-to-ceiling windows that make morning feel less rushed, even when you’ve got a packed day ahead.

  The rooms in this hotel are very nice! large rooms, huge closets, huge bathroom with seperate bath and shower. We compared our room to what you would expect from a nice room in Las Vegas, very impressed for the cost. The breakfast buffett at the hotel was totally worth it and offered so many options from fresh juices to a variety of fruits such as Dragon Fruit. The hotel is nearby a shopping center with alot of resturants. Also the metro station is a 10min walk away which we liked for going into the city. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful in every way!
  
  What could be improved: We would love to give this Hotel a 10/10 but we had a issue with the room AC. The AC in the room seemed to struggle to keep up. We could feel air coming out of the vent but the room never cooled to the temperature we would want. The hotel staff did assist us with moving rooms to the other side of the building where the sun doesnt shine on the building so much, this did help but didnt fully resolve the issue.

  room was huge, interior was little dark which i do not usually appreciate but it was bearable, too quite, breakfast was good too. pudong airport is fairly near the hotel but away from city. nothing much to do near around the hotel.

  Exceptional staff, nothing is too much and they speak English better than I speak Chinese………just be patient! Room was a good size and everything you need. Air conditioning wasn't too flash, had a somewhat warm night (and the windows don't open). Breakfast was plentiful and the area the hotel is located in is interesting (and wealthy).
  
  What could be improved: Shuttle bus was difficult, to the point where I ended up cabbing it (no biggie about RMB150 cash)
