Radisson RED Shanghai Wujiaochang Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Radisson RED Shanghai Wujiaochang Hotel, you immediately know this isn’t your typical business hotel. The lobby has this vibrant, contemporary energy that feels more like a trendy urban hangout than a standard four-star property. I mean, the RED brand really lives up to its name here — there are bold pops of color everywhere, and the design feels refreshingly young without trying too hard. It’s the kind of place where you can tell they’ve put real thought into creating something different in Shanghai’s competitive hotel scene.
Location & Neighborhood
Honestly, the Yangpu district location surprised me in the best way possible. You’re right on Siping Road, which puts you in this interesting mix of university life and local Shanghai culture — Fudan University is practically next door. The Wujiaochang area has become quite the hub lately, and you’ll find yourself surrounded by shopping centers, restaurants, and that authentic Shanghai energy that’s harder to find in the more touristy areas. What I really appreciated is how couples seem to gravitate toward this spot (and I can see why) — there’s something romantic about being slightly off the beaten path while still having excellent metro connections to get anywhere in the city.
The Room Experience
The rooms continue that bold design philosophy, but in a way that actually works for sleeping and relaxing. You know what struck me most? The attention to detail in the lighting and how they’ve managed to make even the standard rooms feel spacious and modern. The beds are genuinely comfortable — not just hotel-marketing comfortable — and the bathrooms have this sleek, almost minimalist vibe that feels refreshing after a day exploring Shanghai. Plus, there’s something satisfying about having private parking available, which honestly makes a huge difference if you’re planning to rent a car or have business meetings around the city.
Breakfast & Dining
The buffet breakfast deserves a mention because it’s actually well-executed, not just the usual hotel spread. They’ve got a solid mix of Western options and local Shanghai favorites, and the coffee is surprisingly good (which, let’s be honest, can be hit or miss in Chinese hotels). I found myself lingering over breakfast longer than usual — partly because the dining area has great natural light, and partly because they seem to understand that breakfast should fuel your day, not just fill you up. The variety keeps things interesting if you’re staying multiple nights.
Why Guests Love It
There’s this perfect balance here between being polished and being approachable. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience, and the whole property has this energy that makes you want to explore both the hotel and the surrounding neighborhood. Recent guests consistently praise the location, and after spending time here, I get it — you’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough from the tourist crowds to feel like you’re experiencing real Shanghai. It’s the kind of place that works whether you’re here for business, romance, or just wanting a solid base to explore the city from.
Exploring Shanghai layers shikumen courtyards, jazz-age lobbies, and twilight ferries past the Oriental Pearl.

Reviews of Radisson RED Shanghai Wujiaochang Hotel
Elena from Russia – 17 March 2025 (7/10)
В номере хорошие продукты, вроде шампуня и геля для душа. Хороший фен. Видно, что попытались передать тот факт, что вы Редиссон через детали. Хороший завтрак.
What could be improved: Утром персонал начинает клининг в 8 утра и кричит в коридорах и соседних номерах, не давая спать. Ощущение, что я проснулась в хостеле где-то в Бангладеше. Номер крошечный. Платное кино по телеку – это просто какой-то новый вид ужаса. На 4* не тянет.Yerlen from Kazakhstan – 27 February 2025 (9/10)
