Location & Neighborhood

You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You’re right in Lujiazui, which means the Oriental Pearl Tower is practically your neighbor, and honestly, the views from here are unmatched. The hotel sits perfectly positioned where you can walk to the Bund in about fifteen minutes — though I’d recommend taking the tunnel just for the experience. Couples absolutely love this area (and I can see why), because you’ve got romantic riverside walks, incredible skyline views, and some of Shanghai’s best restaurants within easy reach. The subway connection is right there too, so getting anywhere in the city is actually straightforward.

The Rooms

I’ll be direct about this — the beds here are exceptional. There’s something about sinking into those sheets after a long day exploring Shanghai that just works perfectly. The rooms themselves feel spacious by Shanghai standards, and if you manage to snag one facing the Huangpu River, well, you’re in for a treat. The bathrooms are what you’d expect from a luxury hotel, but it’s the little touches that matter — like how the curtains open with the touch of a button to reveal that stunning city panorama. The soundproofing is solid too, which you’ll appreciate given how vibrant this neighborhood can be.

Dining & Breakfast

The breakfast spread here is honestly impressive — they’ve got both continental and buffet options, and the quality is consistently high. What I particularly enjoyed was how they balance international favorites with local Shanghai specialties, so you can ease into the day with familiar comfort food or dive straight into xiaolongbao if you’re feeling adventurous. The coffee is actually good too, which isn’t always a given at hotel breakfast buffets. Their restaurants are worth exploring beyond breakfast — the views alone make dinner here memorable.

Plus, having parking available is a genuine bonus if you’re planning to explore beyond the city center. It’s one of those places that manages to feel both grand and welcoming, which isn’t as easy to pull off as it might seem.

  I would gladly recommend this hotel to others. The location is great, near the river bank and many restaurants, two big shopping malls just across the street and the Pearl oriental tower

  Huge room with a very luxurious feel for the price. Has a 2000s sort of feel to the original wing of the hotel, in a good way. Staff very attentive, easy access to metro and IFC / main Pudong spots. Helped book taxi to airport when needed and generous with late checkout.
