Mrs Li’s Home Overview

First Impressions

When I first stumbled upon Mrs Li’s Home in Shanghai, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a three-star property tucked away on North Huanzhen Road. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries happen when you’re not looking for them. This place has that rare quality where everything just feels right — the kind of spot where you immediately relax and think, “okay, I can definitely stay here.” The 9.7 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen; you feel it the moment you walk through the door.

The Baoshan Advantage

Here’s something most travelers don’t realize about staying in Baoshan District — you’re actually in a sweet spot that locals know about but tourists often miss. Mrs Li’s Home sits in this quiet residential area where you get authentic Shanghai life without the chaos of downtown, but you’re still connected to everything that matters. The parking situation alone makes this place worth considering if you’re planning to explore beyond the city center. I mean, finding reliable parking in Shanghai is like winning a small lottery, so having it right on-site is honestly a game-changer.

What Makes It Special

The whole vibe here feels more like staying with a knowledgeable friend than checking into a hotel. Mrs Li (or her team) has this way of making the space feel personal without being intrusive — there are thoughtful touches everywhere that show someone actually cares about your experience. The room I stayed in had this perfect balance of comfort and functionality, with everything you need but nothing that feels excessive or showy. It’s that sweet spot where you’re comfortable enough to spread out and actually relax, not just crash for the night.

Location Insights

What really surprised me was how well-positioned this place is for couples — and after staying here, I totally get why they rate the location so highly. You’ve got this peaceful residential feel, but you’re not isolated from the action. The neighborhood has that authentic Shanghai rhythm where you can grab amazing local food, take evening walks that don’t involve dodging crowds, and still easily connect to the metro when you want to hit the main attractions. It’s particularly nice in the evenings when the area settles into this relaxed pace that feels worlds away from the tourist zones.

Why Guests Love It

Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places across Shanghai, and Mrs Li’s Home does something that’s actually pretty rare — it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. The recent guest ratings aren’t inflated; this place genuinely gets the details right. Whether it’s the reliable wifi, the cleanliness standards, or just the overall sense that someone’s paying attention to your comfort, everything works the way it should. For travelers who want a solid base to explore Shanghai without paying premium prices for location bragging rights, this spot hits that perfect balance of value and genuine hospitality.

To book hotel in Shanghai for Lantern Festival nights, travelers claim Bund terraces pairing dragon dances with skyline fireworks.

I recommend these apartments to everyone if you are visiting Shanghai!
The apartment was clean, had all the necessary things for a comfortable stay, and the air conditioner saved in case of intense heat. The kitchen had all the cooking utensils, in addition, the owner gave us water and food for breakfast, which was very useful after a long flight by plane. The owner was also able to meet us at night and took care of a taxi so that we could get to this apartment, he was always in touch.
The owner is very kind and helpful, showed me everything and told me about the apartment and vacation in Shanghai. This apartment is located near the metro station, which is a very big plus considering the Shanghai transport system.
We are very happy with our vacation and the fact that we chose these apartments!

Amazing hosts, really sweet couple that helped us in every way, met us at the taxi from the airport and took us to the location directly even though we arrived very late in the evening! Location is slightly far out of the centre but we didn’t mind because it was nice and quiet and very easy to walk to the metro station. Really fab view from the balconette area.
Super clean facilities and host was more than happy to help with anything through contacting on WeChat. Also booked us a taxi to the airport on the day of departure which saved us a lot of hassle and money! Would recommend so much !!!

  • Amy from United States – 22 November 2023 (10/10)

The place was very nice and clean. The bedroom was comfortable and had a pretty balcony view. There's also a pullout coach in the living room and a long table to do work on. The host picked us up from the subway station and was very friendly and accommodating. She helped answer all our questions and was very responsive. I had a really nice stay here and would overall really recommend it! The apartment is a short walk to the nearest subway (Shnagda Station) and around 45 minutes from main Shanghai attractions by train.

  • Lichtscheidl from Austria – 14 August 2023 (10/10)

Property was very clean, spacious, had cooking amenities and a gas stove. Air-conditioning only in the bedroom, but this didn’t negatively impact us. Washing machine for dirty clothes and towels, and extremely friendly and attentive host. Owned by a friendly old Chinese couple! A true pleasure to have stayed at. Main attractions are about 30-40 minutes away by metro.

What could be improved: Can be hard to get there if you don’t have WeChat.
