The room I stayed in was larger than I expected — not huge by American standards, but definitely spacious for Shanghai. The bed was properly comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that actually works well. What impressed me was the attention to practical details: plenty of outlets, decent WiFi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and blackout curtains that really block the light. The view isn’t spectacular, but you’re looking out at real Shanghai neighborhoods, which beats staring at another hotel building.

Breakfast Worth Getting Up For

I’ll be honest — hotel breakfasts in China can be hit or miss, but this one surprised me. The buffet setup includes both Asian and American options, so you can go for congee and dim sum or stick with eggs and toast if you’re feeling homesick. The coffee is actually drinkable (not always a given), and they do this thing with fresh fruit that’s cut perfectly and tastes like it was just prepared. I mean, it’s not going to change your life, but it sets you up well for a day of exploring the city.

  What could be improved: 1-Hotel is in poor location next to multi-Level highway makes it very difficult for “tour” guests to stroll and discover the neighborhood safely.
  2-Hotel has no pool or public areas (website shows indoor poor but it does not exist). False advertising !!

  4- Room was dingy with strong mildew smell
