  We arrived in the evening and it was quiet. On stepping out of the Hotel into the plaza/street area I experienced an old world Shanghai feeling …quite unique….like I had stepped back in time. The Hotel itself has that feeling too….comforting. The location was great, walkable to the Bund, River, Museums, shopping, Restaurants.
  The breakfast was varied and tasty. Staff in the Dining room and on the door were all helpful and all staff were kind.

  Very clean, good size room, great position for the centre of Shanghai. The staff were very helpful. A big thank you to Harry, Lilian and Chloe excellent customer service. All the staff were very helpful. Very good breakfast.

  Returning guest. Great location in a culturally rich building. Facilities are good, though the room layout is a bit awkward due to the building’s design—still manageable.

  What could be improved: Upgrade definitely not worth the extra money. Air con did not work first night and it was exceptionally hot. Shower dangerously moved between hot and cold for every shower. Disappointed that the bar and lounge area were not operational

  The hotel was quiet and comfortable, and everything in the room worked as expected. The breakfast was good with a decent selection, and the staff were very polite and welcoming, which made the stay pleasant.
  
  What could be improved: The only issue was the lift buttons, which gave a slight electric shock when pressed. This could be a safety concern that needs fixing.
